Springbank
Description
Officially founded in 1828 in Campbeltown, Springbank Distillery is one of the last fully independent and family-owned distilleries in Scotland, still operated by the Mitchell family. It is renowned for carrying out the entire production process on site, from traditional floor malting to maturation in its own warehouses — a rare practice in modern Scotch whisky production. Springbank produces three distinct styles: Springbank (partially peated), Longrow (heavily peated) and Hazelburn (unpeated, triple distilled). This diversity, combined with an artisanal approach and non-chill-filtered bottlings, gives the distillery’s whiskies a distinctive and deeply traditional Campbeltown character.
