Description

Officially founded in 1816 by John Johnston, Lagavulin Distillery is located on the south coast of Islay, near the bay from which it takes its name. With distilling roots on the site dating back even earlier, it is now regarded as one of Scotland’s benchmark peated single malt distilleries and is part of the Diageo portfolio. Lagavulin is renowned for its powerful and deeply complex style, defined by intense peat smoke, maritime notes and a rich, almost oily texture. Its iconic 16 Year Old has become a global classic, embodying the balance of strength, depth and coastal elegance characteristic of southern Islay.
