Hakushu
Japan1 whisky
Description
Founded in 1973 by Suntory, Hakushu Distillery is located in the mountains of Yamanashi Prefecture, deep within a forest often referred to as the “forest distillery.” Set at over 700 metres above sea level, it benefits from a pristine natural environment and exceptionally pure spring water, both of which shape the character of its whiskies. Hakushu is known for its fresh, crisp and lightly peated style, typically featuring herbal notes, citrus and a gentle smokiness. This refined and vibrant profile makes it a key pillar of Japanese whisky, complementing the richer style of Yamazaki within the Suntory portfolio.
