Description

Originally founded in 1872 in Campbeltown, Glengyle Distillery ceased production in the early 20th century before being revived in 2004 by Mitchell’s Glengyle Ltd., led by the Mitchell family (also owners of Springbank). Its reopening played an important role in the revival of Campbeltown as a recognised Scotch whisky region. The distillery’s single malts are released under the name Kilkerran, referencing Campbeltown’s original Gaelic name. The style is typically well-balanced, combining malty freshness, fruity notes and a subtle maritime influence, with bottlings presented without chill-filtration or added colouring.
